The fundraising plans for the expansion of the Community and Recreation Centre in Agassiz are coming together, piece by piece.

The committee is working on raising $400,000 toward the $2.5 million project, and a tile project to both help fund the gym and decorate began in earnest on Saturday morning.

About 10 tiles were created by local businesses, families and organizations, with the help of staff from Colour Me Mine ceramics studio.

Another tile creating workshop will be held in the near future, and those who are unable to attend can also pay in advance for a tile at the CRC (formerly the Kent Fitness/ Activity Centre) and take their receipt to the studio in Chilliwack.

Small tiles are $50 and large tiles are $90.
