Tales to be told at library

In March, the entire world celebrates the joy and art of reading out loud. Whether you’re an unabashed performer or a closet bookworm at heart, World Read Aloud Day invites you to pick up a book, find a buddy, and speak the tale out loud.

This year, Agassiz is celebrating the event on Friday, Mar. 28 and the whole community is invited to attend.

Read Right Society, in partnership with Fraser Valley Regional Library, is hosting an out-loud reading event at the Agassiz Library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stories of all genres will be shared by community members young and old. Each tale told will be suitable for the whole family and will leave listeners laughing, crying, or genuinely inspired. Listeners are invited to sit and take in all the stories or to drop in and out of the event throughout the day.

World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) first started through international literacy organization LitWorld. WRAD is about taking action to show the world that the right to read and write belongs to all people. WRAD motivates children, teens, and adults worldwide to celebrate the power of words, especially those words that are shared from one person to another.
