Agassiz Friendship House Cribbage Players host tournament
The Kent Harrison Social Centre Society/O.A.P.O. Branch #113 held a cribbage tournament on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Agassiz Friendship House on Morrow Road.
This event was well attended by groups of cribbage players from Chilliwack, Cultus Lake, Mission, Maple Ridge and Hope, as well as seasoned cribbage players from Tuesday afternoon cribbage at the Agassiz Friendship House.
A hearty lunch was provided by volunteers from the Agassiz Friendship House. Over $450 in prizes were presented at the tournament. First prize of $150 was won by Ann Johnstone (Agassiz) and Bernie Lemire (Maple Ridge) with a total score of 1445 out of a possible 1452 points.
Second prize of $100 went to Stan and Gillian Andrew 1437 out of 1452 points (Mission); third prize of $50 went to Margi Rayworth and Jane Norwood 1434 out of 1482 points (Agassiz), with the Boobie Prize of $20 awarded to Ada MacKenzie and Ruth Loffler 1224 out of 1452 points (Agassiz).
A Hidden Score prize of $30 was won by Karen and Wade MacFalan (Hope). Several door prizes were won by participants. Winners included Audrey Taylor, Fred Kager, Harry Hansen, Pat Pruefer and Noela Kerr.
Food and supplies were donated by local businesses to help feed the 93 people in attendance, including Super Value, A & W and Agassiz Produce Market.
