Kent Elementary School was pleased to announce its 26th Annual Spring Concert “Singing Across Canada” on Wednesday and Thursday this past week. The Primary Choir which includes kindergartners, Gr. 1, Gr. 2, and Gr. 3 students sang to its hearts content to a packed gym as they were directed by, Kent Elementary School Choir Director, Brenda M. Di Rezze, and accompanied by Beccie Boeknfohr, Rod Hudson on bass and Jane Briscoe and Dale McGregor on guitar.
The Choir in an ode to patriotism sang pieces selected from native parts all across Canada including all of the ten provinces and territories. Soloist, Brooke Anderson sang “Klondike” which originated in England. The Rylan Anglehart and Rayla Rowan duet sang “Carrion Crow,” and Madyson Green and Coira Norwood took on the beloved classic of “Anne of Green Gables.”
Other tried and true hits that echoed playfully and in good form throughout the gym included “Kettle Valley Line,” “The Kangaroo,” “Donkey Riding,” and “Inuit Lullaby.”
