Human remains found near Hope, Agassiz border

Police are conducting an investigation after human remains were located in a wooded area along a forest service road, near the boundary of Hope and Agassiz.

At this time police do not know how the remains came to be at the location or if foul play is involved. The primary focus of their investigation so far has been on identifying the victim.

According to police their examination of the scene could take several days due to the difficult terrain in the area.

The investigation has been turned over to the Integrated Homicide Investigations Team.
