Valdy gets Agassiz crowd rocking
Folk singer Valdy kept the crowds rocking on Saturday afternoon, as the CP Holiday Train rolled into Agassiz for its second-last performance.
The train set out three weeks ago, covering much of the countryside and stopping in small towns across Canada. The trip is a major fundraiser for food banks across the country, and in Agassiz, CP staff handed over a cheque for $3,000.
As part of the entertainment for the 30-minute show, Valdy got the crowd laughing with a folky-rap song, some holiday favourites and one of his most well-known songs, Play Me a Rock N Roll Song.
Also performing were country performers Tracey Brown and Randall Prescott.
The train will make its final stop Saturday night in Port Moody.
