Mountain inmate passes away
An inmate at Mountain Institution passed away last Friday.
Warren Robert Allen was found unresponsive in his cell. Correctional officers immediately performed CPR and an ambulance was called, but after being taken to the Chilliwack General Hospital, Allen was pronounced dead at 2:14 p.m.
At the time of his death, Allen, 54, was serving a sentence of three years and three months for sexual assault and distributing child pornography. His sentence had commenced on Jan. 20, 2012.
As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. in addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
