Westlin speaks about flooding
Ted Westlin spoke as a delegation to Kent council on Monday night, to discuss what he sees are inaccuracies in reporting from the 2003 Northwest Hydraulics Consultants Report. He read off numerous dates that the District experienced flooding, including at the the District office. One of the tables in that report states that the Mountain Slough has no conveyance problems in 77 per cent of the slough. He said that at times the "whole thing has been underwater, so when they say there is no conveyance issues I have a hard time justifying that."
Staff said that report is just one item being used by the district, along with Westlin's own records. A long time farmer, Westlin keeps detailed records and photographs of the farming areas in the District of Kent.
