RCMP ask for input on crime in Agassiz

It's time to talk about crime. The UFVRD RCMP is conducting public forums around the region and one is being planned for Agassiz on Mar. 3.

The RCMP are hoping to determine the community's priorities regarding crime and public safety.

Detachments are mandated to create strategic priorities which reflect the concerns and issues of their specific communities. To facilitate this, the RCMP will be holding a series of public forums; one in each of the four communities comprising the UFVRD (Chilliwack, Agassiz, Hope and Boston Bar).

Agassiz's public forum will be held at the District of Kent Municipal Hall, 7170 Cheam Ave. The forum will start at 6 p.m. and is open to the residents of Agassiz, Harrison Mills, Harrison Hot Springs, Popkum and the Sts’ ailes, Scowlitz, Cheam, and Seabird First Nations.

“We look forward to engaging the members of each of these communities. We need to hear what their specific concerns are so we can address them” said Cpl.Len vanNieuwnhuizen.  “

It is important that we keep our lines of communications open”.

To learn more and register for the forum, contact the Agassiz RCMP at 604-796-2211.

Registration will also be accepted at the door prior to the meeting.
