The Fraser Valley Dragon Boat Club hosts the 13th annual Harrison Dragon Boat Regatta on Saturday, July 22.

Members of 70 teams will meet on Harrison Lake to compete in races throughout the day. Participating teams include 38 mixed, 28 women’s and four open teams.

Five of the registered teams – the Pirates, Seraphins, Spitfires, Thunderstrokers and Das Kraken – come from the local Fraser Valley Dragon Boat Club with others coming from Vernon, Kamloops, Chilliwack, Vancouver, and even Washington, to name a few.

With more than 3,500 paddlers, volunteers and spectators expected, this one-day event is one of Harrison’s most exciting sporting and recreational events that everyone can enjoy.

While the competition on the water is the main attraction, the event also includes vendors, creating a festival atmosphere along the water’s edge.

The regatta takes place on Saturday, July 22 starting at 8:30 a.m.
