Fire crews quickly extinguish flames near Agassiz rail line

Grass fire broke out late Wednesday afternoon near rail lines

Fire crews from Agassiz, along with rail workers, worked together to extinguish flames at the side of the rail line in Agassiz.

The grass fire broke out shortly after 4 p.m. and the flames were extinguished by 4:30 p.m., at the Cameron Road crossing. The crossing was closed for a short period while crews worked to douse the fire with the help of a water rail car.
