The RCMP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) was in the Eastern Hillsides of Chilliwack Monday morning following reports of gunfire in the area.
Mounties responded to “multiple calls” of gunshots in the residential community above the school by the Falls Golf Club as early as 2 a.m.
An officer on the scene reported that one house was struck by a bullet, and a resident found a bullet on a bed. Someone posted a photo on Facebook of what appears to be a bullet hole through a window in a home in the area.
That same individual said the bullet went through his neighbour’s window, struck a picture on the wall behind his bed and landed on his chest.
The location of the house struck is at Emerald Ridge on Falls Court, which backs on to the golf course.
One officer on the scene said that when police arrived, they also heard gunfire. There was, however, some confusion later Monday morning about the numerous shots heard in the area because it is duck hunting season.

Up until about 9:30 a.m., police were set up at Unity Christian School, which was closed for Remembrance Day, allowing vehicles to leave the area but not allowing anyone past. ERT officers left the scene at around 9:30 a.m. followed by the general duty RCMP members shortly after.
By 1 p.m. Monday, no one from the Chilliwack RCMP detachment responded to a request for details about the incident.
