Mountain on lockdown for 'exceptional search'

Visits suspended until further notice, say prison officials

Mountain Institution was placed on lockdown at about noon on Tuesday, Dec. 4, in order for staff to facilitate an "exceptional search" of the facility.

Visits were suspended until further notice, and the institution was set to re-open when the search was complete.

Correctional Service Canada did not state what staff were looking for, but stated that "the safety and security of our institutions are the primary considerations of CSC."
