One person dead following Chehalis forest road crash

A second person airlifted to hospital with critical injuries



RCMP are investigating a deadly crash Saturday afternoon.

Crews were called to the 11 KM mark of the Chehalis Forest Service Rd near Chehalis Lake around 4:00. They found that a Jeep Cherokee had left the road and went down a 100+ foot embankment.

One person was deceased at scene while another suffered critical injuries and was later airlifted to hospital. Two other passengers suffered non life threatening injuries while another was uninjured.

Kent-Harrison SAR effected multiple rope rescues using a basket to extract each patient while a helicopter was used to retrieve the body utilizing a long line extraction.

No word on any factors which lead to the tragic incident
