Donna May MacDonald
Mrs. Donna May MacDonald (nee Scherrer) passed away peacefully at Royal Columbian Hospital on Sunday, February 19, 2017. Donna was born on August 23, 1939, the daughter of Frank Scherrer and Kay Scherrer (nee Hubbard) and spent her earlier years in Agassiz and Harrison. She spoke of her fondest memories being those childhood summers spent on her father’s logging camp on Long Island at Harrison Lake. In 1962 a family tragedy took the lives of her father, Frank and sister, Judy while boating in Harrison near the very logging camp she loved. The bay in which this tragedy occurred was named Scherrer Bay in memoriam. Donna later moved to the Abbotsford area in 1971 where she met her current husband, Robert and spent the remainder of her life. Donna always cherished her family. She is survived by husband, Robert MacDonald, her four children, Chad Burns and Belinda Burns of Abbotsford, BC, Clint Burns of Chilliwack, BC and Frank Burns of Harrison Hot Springs, BC. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Emily, Ryan and Courtenay. Donna is and will always be sadly missed by all.
