YOUNG, Douglas Allen

April 15, 1948 - April 22, 2017


Allen jogged into the arms of Jesus, his Savior, on Saturday, April 22, 2017. His wife Arlene & sister Dianne sat by his bed as he slipped the surly bonds of this earth to touch the face of God. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of forty-five years: Arlene, his children, Andrea Young Seibel, Jeremy (Rachel) Young, Douglas (Tara) Young, and Daniel (Dina) Young. He had a profound love for his grandchildren, Justin (Taylor) Meade, Savannah, Micah, Lauren, Everleigh, Nathanael, Madison, Isaac, Alana & Kara. His great-grandson, Hudson, also captured his heart.

He is also survived by his sister Dianne (Rick) Young Zenzen, his brother Ken (Catharine) Young, & his sister Debra Dotten, cousin Rhiannon (Ron) Hausch as well as nieces & nephews.

Allen was predeceased by his mother Nancy, his father Pat, & his brother Chris.

His family in Alberta will also miss him: Carol (Fred) Wilson, Bernard (Donna) Weeks, Doris (Ken) Johnson, Ron (Rosemary) Weeks, Lois (Frank) Sorenson, Valerie (Kirby) Kraushar & Bill Weeks. Allen was also predeceased by Peggy Dorion, Norman Weeks & Perry Weeks. A host of nieces & nephews will also mourn his passing. During the majority of his life Allen worked in sales/estimating in the construction industry. In the last ten years of his life, he worked as an agent for Sun Life Financial.

While raising his children, he devoted himself to coaching soccer & baseball over a span of fourteen years.

Allen was a strong family man & a man of convictions, principles, & integrity.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 7-9 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at Valley View Cemetery in Agassiz, BC. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly Church, 3145 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford.
