Elsie Kennedy Remembered

July 3, 1915 - January 25, 2005

Funeral Services were held last Friday, January 28th at Agassiz United Church for long time Agassiz/Harrison Mills resident Elsie Kennedy, who passed away on January 25, 2005 at Valley Haven Care Home in Chilliwack at age 89. Rev. Neill McRae officiated.

Born Elsie Eaton in Bentley/Doncaster, England on July 3, 1915 she later moved to Stellarton, Nova Scotia in 1920. She moved to Harrison Mills, BC in October of 1947 and married Alec Kennedy in April of 1948. They settled on the family farm on Kennedy Road until 1960 at that time they moved to Agassiz where she resided until going to Valley Haven Care Home on November 1, 2004.

Elsie was a long time member and supporter of the Agassiz United Church and Old Age Pensioners. She worked at Glenwood Care Home and the Kent Hotel.

Elsie Kennedy is survived by her four children, Sharon (Bob) Findlay of

Chilliwack, Larry (Wanda) Kennedy of Sardis, Evelyn (Merv) Kricheldorf of Agassiz and Jean (Roger) Poulton of Agassiz. Seven grandchildren, Jason, Simon, Joseph, Jennifer, Justin,

Miranda and Clayton, one sister Freda and two brothers Art and Sonny all of Stellarton/New Glasgow, Nova Scotia and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Alec, three sisters, two

brothers, her mother and father.

Cremation followed and an interment will follow in early March upon the

return of her grandson Joseph

Kennedy from overseas.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Valley Haven Care Home in Chilliwack for their excellent care of

Elsie the past three months, a special thank you to Dr. L MacIntosh for his dedication to mom's care and well

being for so many years.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone for the lovely flowers, cards, caring words and donations to the Parkinson's

Society. Finally to our dear friend Mary Griffith, for always being such a good friend to Mom and being there when we could not be.
