SAWATZKY, Ottilia (nee Martin)

Born March 26, 1930 at the Martin family homestead in Cymric, Saskatchewan. Passed away suddenly on January 22, 2007, at her home in Agassiz.

Tillie is survived bu her loving husband, Aron Sawatzky - they celebrated their 57th anniversary in August 2006. Aron lives at Glenwood Care Centre in Agassiz, where Tillie had visited him faithfully, almost everyday, for the last couple years.

They have six children - Sandra Sawatzky from Cobble Hill, BC - Lorraine (Glyn) Jones from Sherwood Park, AB. - Naida (Tony) Miller from Surrey, BC. - Terry (Donna Cowan) Sawatzky from Vancouver, BC. and Will (Kelly Dyer) Sawatzky from Kamloops, BC.

They have five grandchildren - Andrew and Jennifer Herrington (Lorraine & Glyn) - Cameron and Marissa Miller (Naida & Tony) and Dylan Sawatzky (Terry & Donna).

Tillie was the second oldest of six children born to Jacob and Pauline (Frizler) Martin. She is also survived by her sister, Frieda Hanson from Agassiz and her brothers, Sieg (Arlene) Martin from Agassiz, Ivan Martin from Mission, Arnie (Annetta) Martin from Agassiz; brother-in-law Dean (Vi) Sawatzky from Vernon, sisters-in-law Sue (Pete) Enns from Abbotsford, Freda Starr from Chilliwack and Lamae Sawatzky-Hill from Edmonton plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tillie is also survived by her 98 year old aunt, Annie Frischke, from Regina, Saskatchewan, who is also her Godmother.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Ted Martin and an infant son.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 30th, at 10:00 am., at Christ Lutheran Church in Chilliwack. Paster Dean Andersen officiated. Cremation, with internment at a later date.

Should family and friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to Christ Lutheran Memorial Fund, designating to the elevator fund or charity of your choice.
