'Chip' Parberry passed away on May 2nd 2010 at Agassiz, BC at age 91 years. He was born on May 5th 1918 at Sumas, Washington.

'Chip' is survived by his sons Garth (Sharon) of Alaska, Gary of Harrison Hot Springs, Gene (Harriet Brosius) of Seattle Washington, granddaughters Shannon Parberry (Harold Soule) of Alaska, Shareen Minor of Spokane Washington, great-grandchildren Ronald and Sara Minor of Spokane Washington, sister Gloria Swanson of Washington and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Vivian Jean Parberry on August 13th 1995.

Chip went to school at Whatcom Road and graduated from Nooksack Valley High. He attended the University of Washington in the 1930's and in 1940 married Vivian Merson from Rosedale. He operated Sumas Truck Lines in the Abbotsford Sumas area through the 1940's. In the early 1950's he sold the truck lines and went to work in the logging industry on Harrison Lake. In 1958 he moved his family to the Agassiz Harrison area. In the later 1960's he worked on the Mica Dam Project by Revelstoke. In the middle 1970's and early 1980's Chip worked for Pioneer Motors in Agassiz. Chip served fifteen years as an Alderman and four years as Mayor for the village of Harrison Hot Springs.

There will be no service by request.

The family would like to thank Ann Marie and the staff at Glenwood Care Centre for their care and compassion in Chip's last few years.
