Startup Grind Chilliwack, a monthly meet-up for local entrepreneurs, is getting a reboot.

Startup Grind, powered by Google for Entrepreneurs, will be a monthly event at Cowork Chilliwack and is for founders, entrepreneurs, startups, and others working to get their business off the ground. It’s a chance to build for the future, and connect and learn from each other about the challenges and successes in building a business.

“Chilliwack is growing and changing rapidly,” says Tim McAlpine, president and creative director at Currency Marketing. “Events like Startup Grind help connect people new to the community who don’t necessarily work from an office, but do interesting, valuable work every day.”

Michael Berger, community manager at Cowork Chilliwack added, “At Cowork Chilliwack, we not only support entrepreneurs in their journey to success, but we look for ways to build community. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Startup Grind Chilliwack to offer another opportunity for entrepreneurs to connect and learn from each other.”

The next Startup Grind Chilliwack event will be Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m. The get-together will feature a chance to mingle over some dinner and drinks where participants can meet other Fraser Valley entrepreneurs. That will be followed by a fireside chat with Colin Schmidt from Wisebox Solutions at 6:30 p.m. and then a chance to discuss what’s been heard and to connect with new friends at 7:30 p.m.

Schmidt’s talk will take participates from startup to acquisition and beyond as they learn how his Chilliwack-based software company journeyed from a hobby, to a growth company, to being acquired by a Fraser Valley high-tech group. They’ll also discuss lessons learned along the way, leaving them with actionable insights that they can apply to their own situation.

For more information, or to register, go to www.startupgrind.com/chilliwack. Tickets are $10 for early birds and only $7 for students and include dinner and a drink.
