On behalf of District of Kent Council, I wish to welcome all of you to the Annual Fall Fair and Corn Festival.

The Agassiz Agricultural and Horticultural Association, volunteers, residents and visitors have been making this event a true fixture in our community and has been for over 100 years.

It is the time when families unite and come back home for a couple of days. School reunions take place and there is a real sense of community everywhere.

The fair offers a variety of fun activities, and I urge everyone to become involved and take in as many events as you can such as the Midway, parade and the round bale decorating contest, a new feature for this year and of course the famous chicken and corn barbeque.

It is also a time we can proudly showcase our agriculture. These events have deep roots in our community and the fair is a time to spread awareness of the importance of agriculture.

Congratulations to the Agassiz Agricultural and Horticultural Association and all the volunteers who continue to make the fair a cherished part of Fall. See you at the Fair!

Sylvia Pranger, Mayor, District of Kent
