It’s been another great year for the Agassiz Fire Department’s annual food drive.

The AFD recently announced that local firefighters and volunteers from Kent-Harrison Search and Rescue gathered 6,635 pounds of food and $4,315 in monetary donations in support of the food bank at Agassiz-Harrison Community Services.

“This is well above last year’s totals and we could’t be more proud to serve such a wonderful community,” the AFD said in a Facebook post.

Last year brought in 5,600 pounds of food and $3,200 in cash donations to support AHCS. That means 2021’s totals went 1,035 pounds of food and $1,115 more in donations from 2020 to 2021.
