Former Agassiz-Harrison Observer is up for one writing award at this May’s Ma Murray Awards.

The B.C. and Yukon Community NewsMedia Association announced the finalists for its 2022 Ma Murray Awards on Monday, March 21. Former editor Grace Kennedy is one of three finalists for the Feature Series Award for her three-part in-depth series titled #Buttergate.

#Buttergate ran throughout March 2021. The series dove deep into Canadian dairy farming, the effects of feeding palm oil supplements to cattle and what that means for the dairy market.

All three parts of the #Buttergate series are linked on The Observer’s website.
