Air Cadets open house planned for Tuesday

Public invited to check out the local Air Cadet squadron

The Chilliwack Air Cadets, 147 Airwolf Squadron, has a long history of shaping local youth and providing opportunities for personal growth. And next week, the squadron will host its annual open house to showcase all they have to offer.

The event begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5 and those interested in the program are welcome to drop in and learn more about it.

Youth can join Air Cadets the day they turn 12, at any point in the year. To register, cadets will need their birth certificate, BC Care Card and the registration fee of $150.

Some activities from this past year included gliding, power flying in Cessna 152s &172s, range, RC flying, flight simulation, field training exercises, first aid competitions, drill, parades, rock climbing, and a field trip to Whistler.

The open house will include demonstrations, a word from the Commanding Officer and a chance to have all your inquires addressed.
