Harrison Hot Springs residents are braving high water to repair a dock that broke away during this week’s floods.
A local man who goes by “Boon” said a dock system housing about a dozen boats broke away into Harrison Lake at the Harrison Hot Springs Marina.
The marina is just off Rockwell Drive, shortly before the closed-off portion of the road that experienced substantial damage due to local mudslides and rapid moving water triggered by torrential rain.
According to the latest hydrometric data from Environment and Natural Resources Canada, Harrison Lake peaked at around 12 metres on Tuesday. Levels seemed to be trending downward as of publication going into Wednesday afternoon.
