Community comes through big with AFD food drive

The Agassiz Fire Department’s COVID-safe food drive gathered tonnes of items and food for AHCS

The Agassiz Fire Department took in nearly three tonnes of food during their annual food drive this year.

Earlier this month (Dec. 3), members of the AFD and the Kent-Harrison Search and Rescue went around collecting food and essential item donations left out for them on porches all over the area. On Monday (Dec. 14), the AFD reported they gathered 5,618 pounds in food donations and $3,223.10 in cash to support Agassiz-Harrison Community Services.

Last year, they gathered $3,400 in donations and almost 5,000 pounds of food.
