Cultural Diversity Awards Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Abbotsford Community Services celebrates Cultural Diversity, recognizing the best practices of organizations in the Fraser Valley

ABBOTSFORD, BC – Abbotsford Community Services in partnership with Fraser Valley Regional Library, Mission, Chilliwack and Langley Community Services celebrated the 10th Annual Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards tonight at the Ramada Hotel. Photo gallery at Facebook.com/ myabbynews.

The Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards Ceremony started in 2003 to recognize the best practices of Fraser Valley organizations, initiatives and businesses in recognizing the diversity of our community. Each year, the program receives nominations from individuals, organizations, schools, businesses and programs that work towards building an inclusive community, providing their clients and customers with accessible environments, and having reflective workforces for all.

Concepts of cultural diversity include age, gender, abilities, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion and socio-economic background. Nominees from Abbotsford, Mission, Langley and Chilliwack that exemplify the spirit of cultural diversity are encouraged to apply.

Winner: Ecole Mission Central Neighbourhood School/Centre.

Marketing/Outreach Award.

Winners:

Marketing – Crystal Vision and Hearing #Abbotsford

Outreach – City of Abbotsford

Innovative Initiative Award.

Winner: Honouring Our Teacher’s Ceremony School District 34. # Abbotsford.

Reflective Workforce Award.

Winner: Columbia Kitchen Cabinets.

Champions of Diversity.
