The District of Kent is gearing up for Canada Celebrations to return this summer.

This year’s theme is Celebrating our Roots, and festivities begin with a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. at the Aberdeen Building parking lot. Further celebrations will include a petting zoo, a Canada Day parade, food trucks and a patriotic swim at the Ferny Coombe pool from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. There will also be live music with Ben Cottrill.

Continuing the celebration of the district’s 125th anniversary, members of the district council will also attend the official opening of the 125th Anniversary Legacy Artwork.
