A District of Kent playground is set to get the ribbon-cutting treatment.
The district recently announced that on Saturday, June 14, 11 a.m., there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the Harrison Highlands Park Adventure Playground.
There will be free refreshments and cookies as well as information concerning the next two phases of the park's development. The park is located at the corner of Peregrine Place and Stromdahl Place.
In October 2023, about 130 people provided feedback on the lot that would eventually become Harrison Highlands Park. The following year, council approved installing a playground for $175,000, courtesy of Habitat Systems. This name may sound familiar to locals as Habitat Systems also build the accessible playground on the shores of Harrison Lake. The village of Harrison Hot Springs hosted their opening ceremony last Christmas.
The second phase of the Harrison Highlands Park Adventure Playground is set to include a multi-use game court while the third phase would see the construction of a viewing platform on the area's pond.
