Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated Spring Cleanup would be taking place between April 10 and March 8. It is actually only taking place on Saturday, April 10 and Saturday May 8. We apologize for the confusion.

Residents in the District of Kent are invited to tidy up their gardens and get rid of the debris free of charge on April 10 and May 8.

This year’s Spring Cleanup is hosted by the Agassiz Community Gardens, and will be running 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on those days at the Municipal Gravel Pit on Cemetery Road.

The following yard waste material will be accepted at no charge:

  • branches up to 5 inches in diametre,
  • prunings,
  • leaves,
  • soil,
  • discarded shrubs,
  • sand or fine gravel, and
  • grass, sods, and clippings.

Wood waste, branches and prunings must be separate from other materials so it can be processed through the chipper.

For more information contact the District of Kent’s engineering department at 604-796-2235 or info@kentbc.ca.
