Community invited to join wine and cheese evening Nov. 18

The Agassiz Harrison Lions Club wants to thank local residents with a wine and cheese evening at the Harrison Memorial Hall on Saturday, Nov. 18.

Agassiz resident Lion Terry Savoie has organized a free-admission evening full of fun and entertainment as the Lions way of thanking the people of Agassiz and Harrison for the support they have given the Lions through the years. Terry brings a wealth of experience for this event from her past years as a member of the Sorrento Lions. She and her husband Eugene – who you may have seen hawking raffle tickets at various Lion events – have been working hard since early this year getting things organized with the aim of giving the community a fun evening to kick off the festive Christmas season. They and their team of Lion elves have outdone themselves with this Warmup to Christmas event.

There will be wine tasting – (non-alcoholic vintages also available) – assorted cheeses to sample and other tasty treats to enjoy while listening to your favorite sounds from the 60’s and 70’s. All at no charge, but donations at the door will be cheerfully accepted.

Live entertainment to be sure! Andy Hilhouse and his band will give out with music sure to please. The Harrison Highlanders will bring a wee bit of Scotland to the festivities. Last but not least our own troupe of lively Lions and Lionesses are sure to bring a laugh or two as well. A silent auction, raffle and more round out the evening’s events.

Free admission is by advance ticket only. No tickets will be available at the door. Tickets are limited so get yours now. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., festivities start at 7. Phone Terry at 604 796 3388 to reserve your ticket now.
