Amid the floods and landslides, the Agassiz branch of the Royal Canadian Legion is looking to warm some hearts and fill some bellies.
Volunteers from the local Legion are hosting a chili dinner on Tuesday (Nov. 16) evening at the Agassiz Agricultral Centre for those stranded due to the floods.
Local groups and citizens have not been shy about sharing their talents, supplies and even homes with those who were stranded by landslides on the Lougheed Highway. Between rescue efforts in Hope and Agassiz, more than 1,300 people have been helped as of Tuesday evening.
