Christmas came a bit early for hundreds of kids in Agassiz-Harrison.

Snow fell as Santa Claus himself, Mrs. Claus and community volunteers handed out gifts during the Magic of Christmas event on Saturday, Dec. 4, at at Community Recreation and Cultural Centre. Cars queued up at the drive-thru event as more than 400 children received gifts and goodie bags and stopped with a chat from our North Pole visitors.

This local holiday tradition sells out early every year. In addition to handing out the gifts, many volunteers spent time selecting and packing the gifts in preparation for the big day. Among this year’s volunteer brigade was Chilliwack-Kent MLA Kelli Paddon and District of Kent Coun. Susan Spaeti.
