Ah, spring. The birds are chirping. The cherry blossoms are blooming. The grass is looking green again.

There’s just one thing missing.

Creekside Cheese and Creamery announced the Moo Let The Cows Out event, tenatively scheduled for April 16 (weather permitting), in which their resident dairy cows will run out into the pasture for the first time since winter began.

“Envision a herd of joyously cavorting and dancing bovines as they once again feel the springy sod beneath their hooves and munch on the first mouthfuls of tender and tasty spring grass,” Creekside stated. “It’s an experience like no other.”

The event is free to the public, but parking is limited; as such, guests will be required to register. Registration will open to email subscribers first, and those interested can register at creeksidecreamery.ca.

In years past, after the cows have settled down and begun grazing again, guests were served chocolate milk from the very cows they just watched.
