Staff at the thrift store announced on their website and via social media that all proceeds from food and store sales on Friday will be donated to the District of Kent’s Regional Aquatic Centre fund.

The thrift store will be open until Friday and hamburgers and hot dogs are expected to be ready by 11:30 a.m.

The District of Kent recently received a $10 million grant from the province for a regional aquatic centre to be located adjacent to the Community Recreation and Cultural Centre on Pioneer Avenue. The aquatic centre would take the place of the outdoor Ferny Coombe Pool and is expected to include a six-lane lap pool, shallow leisure pool with a lazy river, a sauna and steam room and common gathering area.

The community donation goal is set at $1 million. To learn more about the centre and to donate, visit kentbc.ca.
