Christmas is coming, the cruiser’s getting stuffed.
The Agassiz RCMP are hosting ther 13th annual Stuff the Cruiser event at the Super Valu (7024 Cheam Avenue) on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Officers are asking the public for donations with the goal of stuffing police cruisers with non-perishable food items, new toys and cash donations. All proceeds and donations gathered in the community go to the Agassiz-Harrison Commuity Services food bank.
“The generosity and support demonstrated by the community in previous years has been beyond expectations,” said Agassiz RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Mike Sargent. “During this difficult time more and more of our community residents are in need of assistance and the Stuff the Cruiser event is a way that the community can come together to assist those in need during the holiday season.”
Last year, the generosity of Agassiz-Harrison donors led to filling four police cruisers with food, toys and cash. The community donated a total of $1,500. Volunteers with the Agassiz Speedway also gathered bottles and cans for donation.
Across the Eastern Fraser Valley, donors raised close to $15,000 in donations, including donations from Save-On Foods, Buy-Low Foods, Kal Tire and Kelton Construction.
