After two years of pandemic-related silence, local musicians are once again ready to strike up the band.
Cheam Vista Classical Concert Society (CVCCS) is set to launch its four-concert spring series starting Thursday, March 10, at 7 p.m. at Riverside Christian Reformed Church (7452 Morrow Road) in Agassiz.
“Percussiano” kicks off the season this week with the renowned piano duo of Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann with percussionist Rod Thomas Squance. “Precussiano” is set to “deliver all of the excitement of a percussion ensemble without losing the classical touch of a traditional concert, presenting great masterpieces and unique transcriptions for percussion and piano,” according to a statement from CVCCS board chair John Zuidhof.
Zuidhof said the trio’s repertoire spans multiple classical composers, including Bach, Schubert, Brubeck and Copland as well as their own original music.
