Harrison Hot Springs country artist Todd Richard confirmed he will be participating in the Hell or High Water concert and telethon fundraiser on Sunday, March 13.

Richard has recorded a video concert as part of the 12-hour online fundraiser with a live-streamed telethon, musical performances, messages and much more. The night caps off with a live concert in Mission at the Clarke Foundation Theatre with performances from international and national recording artists.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward communities affected by last year’s wildfires and catastrophic flooding due to last fall’s atmospheric rivers. Donors may also be eligible for a number of prizes, including golf and stay getaways from all around B.C., NHL game tickets, tickets to the Calgary Stampede and more.

Last month, a severe illness put Richard’s participation in Hell or High Water in jeopardy. Richard was grappling with a severe case of COVID pneumonia last month after testing positive for COVID-19 in mid-January. There was no treatment for COVID pneumonia, and Richard had no choice but to fight it at home.

Thanks to support from his wife, Sylvia, and the community, Richard is now feeling better, he told The Observer.

“I’m doing much better, and I’m so thankful for everyone’s support, wishes and prayers,” Richard said.

The fundraiser has drawn in some other big names for both the video portion of the concert and the live event in Mission. Other video submissions come from Loverboy, Big and Rich, Chilliwack and Jason Benoit. The live event features George Canyon, Aaron Pritchett, Kenny Hess and much more.
