The Harrison Festival of the Arts once again ended on a high note for its 45th annual event.
The 10-day celebration of all things art brought in diverse world music acts on the shores of Harrison Lake, visual arts, an artisan marketplace and night-time performances at Memorial Hall.
The Harrison Festival of the Arts welcomed back a number of musical acts this year, including the Celtic band Shooglenifty, blues-indie fusion master Harry Manx (who last appeared in 2019) and Barney Bentall, who last performed as part of Bentall Taylor Ulric in 2020's more initimate concert series. Latin sensation band Locarno – who performed in 2015 and 2019 – also returned among the festival favourites.
The visual arts display will remain at the Ranger Station Art Gallery (98 Rockwell Drive); the last day to see it is Sunday, July 28.
Having closed out another successful Festival of the Arts, the Harrison Festival Society is gearing up for the Season of Performing Arts, a concert or performing arts series of eight to 10 shows from September to May. The Season of Performing Arts has kept the art scene in Harrison Hot Springs thriving throughout the fall, winter and spring for 35 years, nearly as long as the Festival itself has existed.
