Summer concerts series returns to White Rock waterfront with ‘best ever’ lineup

Colin James, Lee Aaron, Men Without Hats among headliners

The White Rock BIA-presented TD Concerts at the Pier series is back – with what executive director Alex Nixon is calling “our best series ever.”

An outstanding line-up of musical headliners – including South Surrey’s own Lee Aaron, Colin James, Men Without Hats and The Matinee – will hit White Rock’s waterfront for five concerts through July and August.

Although increasing production costs have forced the axing of the popular Five Corners venue, the series will occupy two temporary Marine Drive stage venues: West Beach (at the White Rock Museum and Archives and Memorial Park) and East Beach (in the parking lot adjacent to Grand Chief Bernard Robert Charles Memorial Plaza).

Kicking off the series this year will be Lee Aaron, with opening act Caroline Christie (July 6, West Beach).

Following up will be The Matinee, with opening act Tom and Kalissa Landa of Paperboys fame (July 13, West Beach)

Men Without Hats, with the opening act of White Rock’s Ben Dunnill and his Band, will take the stage July 20 at East Beach.

Next up will be Jake and Elwood’s Blues Brothers Revue, with opening act the Speakeasy Trio (Aug. 17, West Beach).

The grand finale of the series will be Colin James, with opening act James Brandon Isaak (Aug. 24, East Beach).
