Abbotsford man faces charges after fleeing police at 'high speeds'

Abbotsford Police Department officers used a spike belt to stop a fleeing vehicle over the weekend.

A 29-year-old Abbotsford man is facing multiple charges after fleeing a traffic stop over the weekend. 

According to a social media post from the Abbotsford Police Department, traffic officers attempted to stop an uninsured vehicle. However, the driver fled at "high speeds". 

Police used a spike belt to halt the vehicle. 

The man was charged with flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. 

APD said the driver's decision to flee at a high speed put the community at risk.
