Abbotsford police are searching for the driver of a brown Dodge truck who crashed into a power pole early Thursday morning (Jan. 9).

The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is looking for the driver of a brown Dodge truck who crashed into a power pole and fled after an attempted traffic stop.

According to an APD social media post, officers tried to stop the truck for an insurance violation at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 9).

The truck didn't stop and crashed into a power pole at the George Ferguson Way and Birch Street intersection.  Police say the driver ran away and hasn't been found.

APD urges witnesses or those with dash camera footage to contact police.

Over 150 were left without power due to the crash, per BC Hydro's outage list. Crews were on site and power was expected to be restored by 7:30 a.m.
