Mission RCMP say multiple people called police after a man allegedly assaulted two people in the area of First Avenue and Maple Street.

A 26-year-old woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries after an assault in Mission last week.

According to a Mission RCMP news release, a 50-year-old man was arrested in connection to the assault and charges are being recommended.

Police say multiple people called after a man assaulted two people in the area of First Avenue and Maple Street.

Mounties found the man nearby and arrested him.

“The man exhibited symptoms of significant intoxication, kicked at and spat at police, and made racial comments towards officers,” the detachment said.

He was taken to the Mission RCMP cell block and police say he continued to actively resist officers.
