Maxime Bernier will make a stop in Chilliwack as he tours the country visiting candidates in their ridings.

The People's Party of Canada leader will meet with the public, along with Chilliwack-Hope candidate Jeff Galbraith on April 13. The meeting will be held at Evergreen Hall at 1 p.m.

Bernier also visited Chilliwack in 2021 during his 'Mad Max' pre-election tour, where he was welcomed by a crowd of about 100 people in Yarrow Pioneer Park.

“You are here because, like me, you know that without freedom there’s no human dignity, there’s no equality of life, there’s no prosperity. And you know also that our freedoms are under attack,” Bernier said at the time.

He was here again in 2022, as part of his 'Summer Leader’s Tour.'

Galbraith describes himself as an "overly-taxed, semi-retired pensioner," who works for a local industrial export company.

"In an election, every vote must be earned," Galbraith said in a press release regarding his candidacy. "No one gets a free pass based on previous performance."

The Chilliwack event is one of two stops scheduled for the Fraser Valley that day. Bernier will also meet with Abbotsford-South Langley PPC candidate Aeriol Alderking at 6 p.m. at the Glass House Estate Winery in Langley.
