A new candidate's name, under a new federal party, has been added to the ballot for the Chilliwack-Hope riding.
Christopher Adam will run in the April 28 election for the United Party of Canada. The party's website does not include a biography or photo of the candidate. The party itself is new to the political realm.
Its leader, Grant Abraham, says on the website that party members believe "every Canadian has inherent value and the right to live in freedom, prosperity, and security."
The party platform includes gun rights, border security and sovereignty.
"Our nation must be led by those who put Canadians first, protecting their rights, freedoms, and way of life. We stand for real, lasting change—defending faith, family, and fundamental liberties. These freedoms must be enshrined in law to ensure that our children and future generations will always remain True North, Strong and Free.”
There were 16 candidates on the party's website, across Canada, on April 9. The only candidate with information included was Abraham, who is running in the Alberta riding of Ponoka-Didsbury. Abraham is from Abbotsford, and had attempted to run for leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada in 2022.
