Three Chilliwack Chiefs alumni have been nominated for a coveted memorial hockey award, and the public can vote for whom they want to win.
Abram Wiebe, Connor Milburn and Sasha Teleguine are all vying for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) 2025 Hobey Baker Memorial Award, which is presented to the top college hockey player.
Wiebe (Vegas Golden Knights draft pick) skates for the University of North Dakota, while Milburn and Teleguine are both with Lake Superior State University.
They were three of 15 BCHL alumni to be nominated for this year's award. The nominees were decided through a vote between the NCAA Division 1 hockey head coaches.
Fans can vote for their top choices through the Hobey Baker website at hobeybaker.com/vote, up until March 9. People can vote once a day.
The top 10 finalists will be announced on March 19. The Hobey Hat Trick (three finalists) will be revealed on April 3, and the winner will be announced on April 11.
Chiefs alumni Jason Krog is a former winner of the Hobey Baker Award. He is now the Vancouver Canucks skills and skating coach. Other former recipients include: Macklin Celebrini (San Jose Sharks), Cole Caufield (Montreal Canadiens), Cale Makar (Colorado Avalanche) and Jack Eichel (Vegas Golden Knights).
