LETER: Seller greed is keeping new home buyers out

Homeowners across the province, need to know one thing when it comes to selling their homes.

Stop being greedy. The windfall is over.

Rising interest rates have already stalled high-priced homes sales, so what part don’t sellers understand? Even realtors have cashed in. I’ve never seen so many realtors in one location as Chilliwack and we all know why. They all want a piece of the pie.

The reason the interest rates are so high is because the government didn’t do enough to slow down this out-of-control real estate market. If you’re selling your place, I suggest that you experiment with the online mortgage calculator because that’s what most interested buyers do. If the price looks too high, then it probably is.

It’s so sad that first-time homebuyers have to rent because of this mess. Having said that, a lot of rental fees are similar to mortgages, that is if one can find a suitable place.

We’re far from out of the woods.
