Editor:

My first and foremost question that needs to be asked is who do the councillors think they represent? Certainly not the residents, by their actions of late. I wonder how they can spend the village’s money on lawyers so they can stifle our views. I also wonder if this has happened before and if this is the normal actions of the council to negate the people’s freedom of speech.

They were fine when the mayor was getting disgusting comments made about him by the “village mole.” They even decided to blindside him with a vote of no confidence – for what purpose?

Our mayor is the prime example of what an honorable man is: he did not intimidate, bully or even threaten to take the residents responsible for trying to tarnish his reputation to court or sue them.

Is this desperation on their part to take away our democratic process? Are they just controlling and have to have things their way all the time? Politics is a tough game, but if you cannot take the heat, you should not run in the first place. It is not a role to be taken lightly if you do not have a thick skin. Maybe the councilors need to re-evaluate why they decided to run.

There is a saying that actions speak louder than words. Well, we see their actions, so there are no words to even describe what they hope to obtain.
