Agassiz’s hardware store is going through some big changes.

6950 Cheam Avenue – until recently known as Ace Building Centre – is returning to its former Rona brand.

Paul and Rose Tebrinke, along with their son Shaun, acquired the local lumber yard in 2014 and built the brand-new Ace Building Centre – which is also a Rona brand – in 2020. By returning to the Rona banner, the Tebrinkes have taken an opportunity to expand their store, which will consist of 6,000 square feet of indoor retail space, A 5,000-square-foot indoor lumber yard and a 98,000-square-foot outdoor lumber yard. With the expanded space comes a wider selection of appliances, seasonal products and plumbing.

Rona Affiliated Dealers Senior Vice-Presdient Alain Ménard stated that the Agassiz location is one of the 11 Rona-affiliated stores that switched to the Rona banner as of last December.

“I welcome Paul and Rose Tebrinke, and their son Shaun, but, above all, I thank them for trusting us,” Ménard said.
