The seeds of this year’s Fall Fair and Corn Festival have officially been planted.
District of Kent officials have approved the parade route for Saturday, Sept. 17, continuing a long-standing tradition of a float-filled Fall Fair parade featuring local businesses and organizations as well as the yet-to-be-crowned Corn King or Queen.
According to a letter from parade marshal Pete Hyma, the parade officially begins moving at 10 a.m. from Agassiz Elementary Secondary School (following line-up and judging starting at 9 a.m.), heading east onto Cheam Avenue to Highway 9. From there, the parade goes north on Pioneer Avenue and on to the fairgrounds.
2022 marks the 118th annual Fall Fair and 74th annual Corn Festival. The Agassiz Agricultural and Horticultural Association organizes multiple events and attractions every year. The Fall Fair and Corn Festival are among the biggest events in Agassiz-Harrison every year, drawing an average of 10,000 people during normal operations.
